Pucks, ice, and a whole lot of heart—the 2026 Braestone Winter Classic was one for the history books. Between the echoes of skates on the pond and the constant hum of laughter and music, the day was a beautiful reminder of what happens when small-town Canada gathers together for the greater good.

In true small-town Canada style, however, players, spectators, volunteers, sponsors, families and friends showed up and raised over $149,000 for the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre at RVH!

Mother Nature decided that we wouldn’t be playing pond hockey this winter, so the Braestone Winter Classic Organizing Committee called an audible and transformed the event into a ball hockey tournament.

February 3-5, 2023
20 teams competed over the weekend – and despite some frigid temperatures, dozens of spectators cheered on the brave participants and more than $103,000 was raised for the cause!

Our first tournament was a huge success with 16 teams competing on the pond at Braestone Farm and over $72,000 raised to support the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre at RVH.
